Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the OrcaSlicer website and software.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OrcaSlicer, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

OrcaSlicer is an open-source 3D printing slicer software that converts 3D models into G-code for 3D printers. The service includes:

  • Desktop software for Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • This website and its documentation
  • Community support channels

3. Open Source License

OrcaSlicer software is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL-3.0). This means:

  • You may use, modify, and distribute the software freely
  • If you modify and distribute the software, you must make your modifications available under the same license
  • The full license text is available at gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0

The AGPL-3.0 license governs your use of the software. These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and related services.

4. User Responsibilities

When using OrcaSlicer, you agree to:

  • Use the software responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws
  • Not use the software for any illegal or harmful purposes
  • Understand that 3D printing carries inherent risks and take appropriate safety precautions
  • Verify that generated G-code is suitable for your printer before use
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent any security measures (beyond what's permitted by the AGPL license)

5. 3D Printing Safety

3D printing involves heat, moving parts, and potentially hazardous materials. You acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for operating your 3D printer safely
  • You should never leave a 3D printer unattended during operation
  • You should use appropriate ventilation, especially with certain materials
  • You understand the risks involved and assume full responsibility for your safety

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

OrcaSlicer is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Warranties that defects will be corrected
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of generated G-code

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OrcaSlicer, its contributors, and maintainers shall not be liable for any:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Damage to your printer, property, or person
  • Any claims arising from your use of the software or generated G-code

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OrcaSlicer, its contributors, and maintainers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the software
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

9. Intellectual Property

The OrcaSlicer name, logo, and branding are subject to trademark protection. The software source code is licensed under AGPL-3.0. Third-party components may be subject to their own licenses.

10. Community Guidelines

When participating in OrcaSlicer community channels (GitHub, Discord, Reddit), you agree to:

  • Be respectful and constructive
  • Not post spam, advertisements, or off-topic content
  • Not harass, threaten, or discriminate against others
  • Follow the specific rules of each platform

11. Third-Party Services

OrcaSlicer may integrate with or link to third-party services (printers, cloud services, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of these third parties.

12. Modifications to Service

As an open-source project, OrcaSlicer is continuously evolving. We reserve the right to:

13. Termination
